ABOUT ME

Background

If you are contemplating therapy, it helps to have some basic information before making a decision on which therapist you see. My therapeutic approach includes a mix of behavior-oriented strategies with a heavy emphasis on living in and improving the “here and now.”

I have over twelve years experience as a clinical social worker and am currently a part-time clinical supervisor at Unity Behavioral Health. I work with a variety of individuals, but specialize in working with those who struggle with anxiety, trauma, substance use disorders and borderline personality disorder.

Prior to this position, I was on the staff of Princeton House Behavioral Health in Princeton, NJ. I worked on inpatient units (psychiatric and substance abuse) as well as in the outpatient clinics, providing individual, group, and family therapy to individuals struggling with both a significant mental health problem and a co-occurring substance abuse problem.

I have dual Masters Degrees in Social Work and Public Administration from the University of Southern California. I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Therapeutic Approach

My therapeutic style integrates principles and practices from several established modalities of psychotherapy. After initial consultation, I will recommend a plan that includes elements associated with one or more of the following therapies.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
  • Gestalt Psychotherapy
  • Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)
